Windswept Life

Am I a cloud in the Sky?
Blown by the wind.
Up so high...
Maybe it's why I like the rain so much.
It brings me back down to earth.

I woke up to a weird dream just now. Yea I skipped my classes, so what? But If I want to remember something this weird, this disjointed, I gotta write it down now. My dream went something like this...

The dream started with me waking up rushing to the car, where my dad was gonna drive me to class. For some strange reason I was sitting in the back and changing into some white sweatpants. I was gonna be late, but I was also gonna be cutting class. It was the class that I had in my other dreams, hella days ago, where it was an SAT Prep class or something of the sort (In my other dream, I complained about how much all this shit costed me). I went to that class regardless but we were learning something I thought was regular common knowledge, so I didn't want to stay. So when we had a class break (same as in the other dream, when I found out this campus was like a mall with hella random rooms for different "classes" and "gatherings, like Bingo and M:tG, etc) I decided to leave. I could have sworn I was telling all this to Steven Tsiang. After I left, I went outside, and was at some random dance thingy. Out of nowhere, I spotted Lawrence. Naturally, I went up to him and was like "Oh my god, Lawrence, long time no see!" I got the same reaction from him and was happy. Then we left, cuz my dad was gonna pick me up. We needed to "walk across campus" to get there. This place looked like a semi lit version of the area leading to my Grandma's apartment in Hong Kong. Coincidentally, it's also the same setting as the dream I had where I had to escape from this building in the pitch darkness of the night while I was fleeing from some force that was trying to kill me. Regardless. Along the way there, my conversation with Lawrence went something like "Oh yea, so I tried out for Kaba, but I didn't make it. Well, I didn't even go to all their workshops, but yea. The auditions were on my birthday and stuff." Lawrence nodded a lot and was like, "Wow, well, didja have fun at least?" And I was like "Yea!" So we got to that place that looked like the front of my grandma's apartment. I was about to wave Lawrence goodbye when I got a phone call from my dad. He was like, "Where are you?!" And I realized he was on "the other side of campus." (My dad and I talk in Cantonese) SO I was like, "Uhm, dad, want me to meet you there?" He was grumbling, which I interpreted to mean "I'm driving there right now, don't leave." Somehow, I knew that I was gonna have a lot of free time, so I was like, hey Lawrence, let's walk around to the other side of the campus. To get there, we had to cross lots of strangely connected buildings and stuff, and there were escalators up, but what seemed like laundry chutes going down. One of the T-intersections we came to sad VDC (left) and VDCN (Right). And on the escalator, I asked Lawrence, "So, what year are you now? Like, 8th?" THere was also some 6 feet tall jackass standing in front of us. Lawrence answered "Well, we're going to my apartment in VDC, right?" (I have no idea when the destinations changed...) I face-palmed and was like "Omg, you're a second year?! WTF?" He was like "Uh, yea, so don't tell anyone!" and laughed. And I said something like "Wow, so I'm the only one that knows..." And then we proceeded to slide down these chutes. They weren't really narrow, just cramped. We both went in feet first, like a water slide. At the very end, there was an elevator. but we couldn't get to the button because there wasn't enough a gap for us in the chute to fit our arms through to hit the "up" button. Unfortunately, right under the up button was the fire alarm. Lawrence was leading the way, so naturally, he tried to hit the up button first. In order to get to the button, we both turned ourselves around (yes, in that cramped chute.) He missed and got the fire alarm. I was like "Aw shit..." And then I tried to push my head up and it went through a trapdoor that opened. I was so pissed. the I reached through the trap door to his the DOWN button. (I have no idea why I changed from up to down in my dream). We crawled into the elevator and right ourselves to regular height. A fireman awaited us on the bottom. He was wearing like, a tan shirt with a badger on it? And he told us not to mess with the fire alarms. I thought he was gonna get mad at us so I started to through random conversation at him, like "Oh, you like horoscopes and stuff, right?" And he was like "Aw yea!" and smiled, and we made a quick exit. We laughed about it to ourselves and started walking away.

Then I got woken up by my 9:45AM alarm. Blast my NDS Lite to hell.

The next thing I remember, I was walking along a place that looked suspiciously like when I had my trip to Macao. At the very end of a street, I thought it was going to be that Anime shop from the vendor fair on Ring Road. But it wasn't. It was this store that was all about suns and moons and stars. Like your average horoscope-y shop. I remember saying "Man...so they're gone..." We (At this point, I think I'm with my roomie Garrett and my suite mates Derrick and Filip, along with Pamela who lives at the other end of our hall. We started walking down the intersecting street, and came across a smaller shop that had random posters outside. The group decided to stay and check things out. I started looking at the posters and picked on up with the sun and moons and stars on it. Then I looked up to see that random fireman before. I think he was a not-so-creepy stalker. I remember holding up the poster and yelling towards him "You like this stuff, don't you?" And he looked at me funny. I didn't really pay attention since I already turned back to my group. Then the conversation veered to something about ships. And then someone in the group (none of the people I named before, this was an unknown person), said "This guy must have gotten like, 300 thousand pencils..." I remember thinking to myself, "300 thousand pencils, wtf?" Then the shopkeeper cam out and explained "In order to get the ship you see in this picture, I had to trade in 100000 thousand of those (Ayn Rand-looking) books." I understood the pencils to be a consolation prize. The shopkeeper offered to show us the boat. Then the last thing I remember was that me, Derrick, and Pamela were laughing at something in one of the posters. Then I woke up. It was 12:10. I had officially missed my Bio Lecture.

It's now almost 1PM. I so totally missed Anthro too. Go me.
